As the premier investment information source in the country, Zygo5 offers our members information on the current investment outlook for the US equities markets. What you do with that information is up to you. Trading strategies you employ with the Zygo5 forecast depend on your investment experience and your appetite for risk. Trading strategies employed include going long or short indexes via ETF's, buying Puts and Calls on ETF ticker SPY and buying individual stocks using sell limit and stop orders. An occasional straddle or strangle may be reviewed. Our trading strategy beats the stock market indexes consistantly especially in down markets.
For those with a low appetite for risk, we provide our Basic Strategy for your review. With our Basic Strategy you would consider going long or short the S&P 500 via ETF SPY, SSO or SDS. ETF's (Exchange Traded Funds) track market indexes and you can trade them just like a regular stock at your own online broker. No shorting. No margin requirements - just buying and selling ETF's to track the market. You can use stop, sell limit and conditional orders to lock in profits and help limit losses. Our low risk or Market Index Strategy returned 29% in 2008!* Our Basic Strategy highlights diversification and risk management using stop orders to help preserve principal.
For the more active trader, we provide our Active Strategy. Each week, we examine three stocks of interest. Using three stocks or ETF's allows us to diversify our portfolio to reduce risk. Now that we are building a diversified portfolio, we seek to place another level of protection on our portfolio using stop orders. You use stop orders as a kind of safety net for your investments. You buy the three stocks, place your stop orders to help protect your investments and when the stocks go up you sell them to take profits. We cover mostly high volume, large cap stocks. No penny stocks. No IPO's. Nothing under $5. The Active Strategy is buying low and selling high using stop orders to help protect you from unexpected losses. Our Active Strategy has outperformed the stock market averages by more than double for the past three years.*
Now, for those with an even greater appetite for risk, we offer our Options Trading Strategy. Index options trading is a strategy that is employed by advanced traders to take advantage of indentifiable trends or reversals in the marketplace. For the advanced trader, we look at buying puts or calls on the S&P 500 Index via ticker SPY. Options investments should be limited to only 10% of a portfolio. Trade triggers and conditional orders can also be employed.  Z5 Options Trades have returned an astounding 202% in 2008!*
Our trading strategies beat the stock market indexes consistantly in up and in down markets. The use of stop orders and trade triggers allow you to invest in the stock markets and have the freedom to live your life and not be chained to your computer.
Simply begin using Zygo5 market forecasts by doing these three steps:

Our market forecast comes out each Monday before the market open with daily updates until the current forecasted trend comes to an end. We use the tracking stock SPY for the index forecasts. This tracks the S&P 500 long (symbol SPY) or short (symbol SDS). This strategy may allow you to make money when the market goes up OR down.
We forecast the direction and projected magnitude of the move and provide daily updates as needed (usually once a week) with suggested support levels. As we ride the S&P 500 market trend, we run the Zygo5 program daily, fine tuning to uncover possible breakdowns or upcoming changes in direction identified by Zygo5. If the market moves against a trend, our stop orders and trade triggers help protect our investments.
The combined effect of trading indexes, ETF's and individual stocks creating our rolling, diversified portfolio has shown to beat the market time and time again as shown on the Home Page of this website.
